Implementation and Commissioning of the Medeiros Neto II LT Span Circuit I, Line Reactor, GY Central Span and 500 kV Busbar Protection

The Poções 3 Substation, operated by TBE, operates in the 500 kV voltage class and is undergoing a process of implementing a new access span by NEOENERGIA, with the installation of Siemens Siprotec 5 IEDs in the protection system.

In collaboration with Siemens, CCESE carried out the following activities at the substation, in the following locations: Medeiros Neto II Transmission Line Span Circuit I, Line Reactor, GY Central Span and 500 kV Busbar Protection:

  • Commissioning of the protection systems of LT Medeiros Neto II C1, Line 1 Reactor and Central Span GY.

  • Carrying out functional tests on the new protection systems of LT Medeiros Neto II C1, Line 1 Reactor and Central Span GY, with the yard equipment.

  • Tests of characteristics of the protection functions of LT Medeiros Neto II C1, Line Reactor 1 and Central Span GY.

  • Control tests at levels 0, 1, 2 and 3.

  • Validation of control and protection logic and interlocks of LT Medeiros Neto II C1, Line 1 Reactor and Central Span GY.

  • Point climb tests for SCADA.

  • Parameterization, implementation and testing of the protections of bars 05B1 and 05B2, Siprotec 4, for access to the new spans to the TBE busbar.
